The Dual Imaging And Diffraction (DIAD) beamline is dual beam X-ray instrument for imaging, diffraction and scattering, which operates at energies of 7-38 keV.

Diamond Light Source

  • Ring Energy: 3 GeV
  • Ring Current: 300 mA
  • DLS runs in a top-up mode

  • The source is a short 700 mm length fixed-gap wiggler insertion device, placed in a “missing sexatapole” configuration in the storage ring.
  • Period length: 116mm
  • Operating energy: 7-38 keV
  • Field amplitude: 1.5 Tesla

  • Monochromatic imaging: 7 - 38 keV, 1.7 mm x 1.7 mm
  • Pink imaging: Unfiltered
  • Monochromatic diffraction
