The tomography beamline 7-BM of the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory offers a wide range of X-ray tomographic imaging techniques.

Monochromatic Beam with Double Multilayer

  • Focus spot size: 5 x 6 μm FWHM
  • Detection bandwidth: up to 6.5 MHz

Monochromatic Beam with Single Multilayer Mirror

  • Beam size at sample: 5 mm x ~1 mm; beam height varies depending on energy
  • Multilayer (1-3% bandpass), Energy range: 15-70 keV

White Beam

  • Beam size 12 mm (H) x 5 mm (V)
  • Energy range: 5 - 100 + keV
  • A range of filters are available to tailor the effective beam energy for dense samples.
